Josh joins KAI Real Estate in 2022 with 11 years of experience as a full- time Real Estate Professional. He brings with him a personal history of building, renovations and property management lending a ground-up, inside-out understanding to the value of real estate as structure, business and home.
In 2008 Josh and his wife Anne got their start by purchasing a major fixer in Oakland and completing the entire remodel on their own. Their enthusiasm for property development and real estate lead them to join Lawton Associates in Rockridge in 2010, San Francisco’s Sotheby’s International Realty in 2018 and most recently Highland Partners in 2020.
Josh has since completed dozens of real estate renovations for their clients. Experience and attention to detail give Josh and Anne an advantage in a fiercely competitive environment for Buyers, and especially for Sellers interested in a top dollar return. Their focus is to bring maximum value to a process requiring responsiveness, vision, creativity, safety, management and humor.
A 7th generation Oregonian, Josh was raised on design and architecture in the Pacific Northwest and has made the Bay Area his home for the last 35 years.
Josh holds degrees in Psychology and Fine Arts from the University of California at Santa Cruz and prior to real estate owned a furniture design and cabinetry business. He has managed, owned and built rental property - including Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU’s). When they’re not exploring the wonders of the Bay Area through the eyes of their young daughter, Josh and Anne cycle the hills of the Bay from the Marin headlands to Diablo Mountain.
